Dates
The top two in each group advance to the round of 16. The group stage will be played between April 2nd and 4th (first round) and May 28th and 30th (sixth round).
The round of 16 is scheduled to take place between August 13th and 22nd. The quarterfinals will be from September 17th to 26th. The semi-finals take place from October 22nd to 31st. The Libertadores grand final will be in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 30th; The stage for the single game of the decision has not yet been defined.
How it worked
The 32 classified teams were separated into four pots to divide the brackets. The clubs, previously guaranteed at this stage, were allocated according to their position in the Conmebol ranking.
Eight teams formed pot 1, the next eight occupied pot 2, and so on. The four classified by the pre-Libertadores (Botafogo, Palestino, Nacional and Colo-Colo) were, necessarily, in the last pot, 4.
It is worth remembering that clubs from the same country could not face each other in the group stage. However, there is the exception of teams coming from the preview, such as Botafogo, which could fall into the same bracket as a compatriot.
