With seven representatives from Brazil, Conmebol defined the groups for the Copa Sudamericana; Fortaleza takes on Boca Juniors
Conmebol held this Monday, 18th, in Luque, Paraguay, the draw for the groups for the 2024 Copa Sudamericana. Just like in the Libertadores, Brazil will have seven representatives in this phase: Athletico, Bragantino, Corinthians, Cruzeiro, Cuiabá, Fortaleza and Internacional.
As the regulations for the continental competition provide, teams from the same country do not face each other in the group stage. Thus, each Brazilian was allocated to different groups.
Each team will play six matches, and the top teams in each group will advance directly to the round of 16. The vice-leaders compete in a knockout match against the third-placed teams from the Libertadores groups. The winners of this eliminatory duel will also go to the Sula round of 16.
