The team is experiencing funding problems
Metallurgist left midfielder Vladimir Belotserkovets and striker Bogdan Mogilny.
Belotserkovets has been playing for the Zaporizhzhya club since 2021, first on loan from Zarya, and then on a full contract. This season, the 24-year-old footballer has played 19 matches, scoring five assists.
Shakhtar graduate Mogilny has played for the Metallurg first team since 2019. This season, the forward has played 19 matches for the club in all competitions. Bogdan scored three goals and provided two assists.
Earlier, Metallurg appointed Anton Gai as acting head coach. The team officially announced that it would continue to play in the First League, despite financial problems and the departure of a number of key players.
Let us remind you that deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council, when adopting the budget for 2024, significantly cut funding for the KP MFK Metallurg. In view of this, the club launched the process of disbanding the second team. In mid-February, Metallurg-2 officially withdrew from the Second League 2023/24.
Metallurg took sixth place in Group B of the First League in the autumn part of the season. The Cossacks will play in the elimination group in the spring. Guy’s team will play the next official match against Khust on March 23.
