Lokomotiv Kyiv newcomer – about performances in Spain and expectations from the new team
in winter Kyiv Lokomotiv strengthened by a number of talented young players. One of the railway recruits was left lateral Vadim Gordiychukwho spent the previous season in the Spanish Rayo Majadahonda. The newcomer to the Kyiv club spoke about his performances in Spain and shared his expectations from the new team.
“The adaptation to the new team was quite successful; Lokomotiv has a very friendly team. The guys received me warmly, the senior players gave me continuous support and the necessary tips on the field. This is my first professional club. Now it is important to adapt correctly, adapt to new realities, study a lot and gain experience.”
“There is some excitement, because youth football is significantly different from adult football, but I’m ready. I receive support from the coaching staff, so I’m confident that everything will work out for the best.”
“In Ukraine, football players are trained more physically, for endurance, for fighting, while in Spain they mostly work with the ball. However, what is really encouraging is that the level of training and confidence in young people is growing. Young talents are valued and are willingly given a chance. That’s why I like Loko because of this approach.”
Lokomotiv finished the autumn part of the 2023/2024 Second League championship in 11th place, scoring 15 points in 17 matches. The first match of the spring part, the “railroad workers” will play away on March 24.
