Ukrainian women’s futsal team lost with a crushing score Italy in repeated sparring – 0:6.

The second control match in two days took place in the Italian city of Taranto. Let us remind you that the first meeting was held in a relatively equal fight and ended in victory for the home team with a score of 4:2.

This time the advantage of the Italian team was more noticeable. Squadra Azzurra fired doubles: first in the middle of the first half, and then shortly before the break. Sarah Butima scored a brace. In total, the defender scored five goals in two sparring matches against the blue-yellows.

In the second half, the game continued with the Italian team having an advantage. The Ukrainians also tried to attack in response, striking on target, but their rivals were more successful, managing to score twice more.

Sparring with the Italian national team for Oleg Shaitanov’s team became part of the preparation for the 2025 World Cup qualification.

Next year will see the first ever Women’s Futsal World Cup. A total of 16 teams will take part in the tournament, with four quotas allocated to Europe.

European qualification will take place from April 2024 to April 2025. The selection includes two rounds, each of which will be a mini-tournament on one site. In the main round, 24 teams (including the Ukrainian team) will be divided into six quartets. The group winners and (if necessary) the best second-place team will advance to the elite round.
