Christian Shevchenko is in the reserves of the Ukrainian U-19 national team for the elite round qualifying match for the Youth Euro 2024 against North Macedonia

The starting line-up has been announced Ukrainian national team U-19 for the first match of the elite round of qualifying for the Youth Euro 2024 against North Macedonia.

From the first minutes, Blue-Yellow coach Dmitry Mikhailenko trusted centerback Taras Mikhavko and forward Matvey Ponomarenko. The son of UAF head Andrei Shevchenko, Christian, was on the bench.


Ukraine U-19 (start): Krapivtsov – Ogarkov, Mikhavko, Melnichenko, Drozd – Vashchenko, Krevsun – Gadzhiev, Tuterov, Sinchuk – Ponomarenko.

Spares: Kravets, Gusev, Badenko, Ermachkov, Stryukov, Tsukanov, Shevchenko, Matkevich, Dubrovny.


Let us remind you that the Ukrainian U-19 team will play in the elite round of qualifying for the 2024 European Youth Championship with the teams of Switzerland, North Macedonia and Latvia. The matches of this qualifying stage will take place from 18 to 26 March 2024. Only the winner of the quartet will receive a ticket to the final part of the continental championship.

All group matches will start at 15:00. Today, March 20, Mikhailenko’s team will play against North Macedonia, and on March 23 – against Latvia. Ukraine U-19 will complete the group stage with a game against Switzerland.

Euro 2024 U-19 will take place in Northern Ireland from 15 to 28 July 2024. The continental championship will simultaneously serve as a UEFA selection for the 2025 World Cup (U-20).
