16 teams will play in the tournament. At the group stage they will be divided into four quartets. So far, 12 teams that will play at the Olympics are known. Three more will be determined in early May, after the completion of the Asian Youth Cup. One is based on the results of the playoffs between the team that took fourth place in the Asian Cup and Guinea.
The Ukrainian national team at the draw will be in the fourth basket, where it will be accompanied by the teams of the Dominican Republic, Israel and will win the playoff between the fourth team of Asia and Guinea.
