Zinchenko: We want to play our best football tomorrow

The midfielder of the Ukrainian national team noted that the team practiced penalties, but was determined to win in regular time

Midfielder Ukrainian national team Alexander Zinchenko spoke about the upcoming fight with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals of the qualifying playoffs European Championship 2024.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game. Bosnia is an incredible team with a lot of experienced players. Any national team plays much better in front of its fans, so we expect a very difficult match. But we want to play our best football tomorrow.”

“I don’t know how to determine which team is better. We have an excellent generation of football players, we have a lot of young players. But we also have experienced football players. We believe this team can achieve great things, we really do. But we have to prove it and show it on the field.”

“The atmosphere in the team is great, we all understand why we came here. We also understand how responsible this game will be. The preparation went well. Personally, I feel one hundred percent both physically and psychologically. Ready to help my national team.”

“Penalty? These are the rules of the game if we play a draw in regular and extra time. We practiced penalties, but we would like to resolve all issues in normal time. Anything is possible in football, so we have to be ready.”

On March 21, Bosnia and Herzegovina will host Ukraine in the semi-finals of the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs in the city of Zenica at the Bilino Pole stadium. Starts at 20:45 local time (21:45 Kyiv time). The match will be officiated by a German team of referees led by Felix Zweier.
