The son of the UAF president came on as a substitute in the match against North Macedonia
Attack Ukrainian youth team Christian Shevchenkoson of UAF President Andrei Shevchenko, spoke about his debut in the team in the match with North Macedonia in the selection for European Championship 2024.
“Of course, it was 2 good days with the team and coaching staff. They were very welcoming and supportive. A great start to the tournament with a victory, the team showed a very good game and we earned 3 points.
“I’m very proud to make my international debut for Ukraine and I’m looking forward to the next two games.”
Shevchenko Jr. made his debut in the Ukrainian youth team, coming on as a substitute in the 79th minute. The blue-yellows beat North Macedonia U-19 (2:0) thanks to goals from Daniil Krevsun and Matvey Ponomarenko.
In the next round, Ukraine will play against Latvia U-19 on March 23. The selection will end with a match with Switzerland on March 26. The winner of the group will advance to the European Championships.
