Real Madrid has already prepared a new offer to Lunin

The Ukrainian’s current contract is valid until the summer of 2025

real Madrid has already prepared a new contract proposal for the Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin. The Blancos management clearly intend to retain the player, whose current agreement runs until the summer of 2025.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti also fully trusts the 25-year-old Ukrainian, who this season unconditionally won the competition against Kepa Arrizabalaga (the contract of the Basque, leased from Chelsea, the club ultimately decided not to buy). However, the final decision remains with Lunin himself.

It was reported the day before that Real intends to speed up the negotiation process to extend the contract with the Ukrainian against the backdrop of Thibaut Courtois re-departure for a long period. According to some reports, the Belgian will be out for two to four months. Because of this, the club is even thinking about inviting David De Gea as a free agent in the summer.

It was previously reported that the new agreement will increase wages and stipulate a guaranteed number of games that the Ukrainian will play during the season. At the same time, Lunin will be the reserve goalkeeper, while the “first number” should remain with Courtois.

The Ukrainian’s current agreement runs until the end of the 2024/25 season. If the contract cannot be extended, they will try to sell Lunin in the summer transfer window to exclude the option of leaving for free.

This season, Lunin played 23 matches (10 clean sheets, 19 goals conceded) for Blancos in all tournaments. With Real Madrid, Andrei won seven trophies, including La Liga, the Champions Cup and the Club World Cup.

Real are confidently leading La Liga, ahead of Barcelona and Girona. Also, Carlo Ancelotti’s team continues to play in the Champions League 2023/24. The Spanish giants will face Manchester City in the quarter finals of the tournament.
