Premier League accuses Leicester of violating Financial Fair Play

“Leicester are surprised by the actions taken by the Premier League today. The Club is extremely disappointed that the Premier League has decided to make a complaint now, despite the Club’s efforts to engage constructively with the Premier League on the matters which are the subject of this accusation, even though Leicester are not currently a member of the Premier League. League.

Leicester remains willing and committed to engaging constructively with the Premier League and English Football League to ensure any potential allegations are appropriately resolved. “The club continues to monitor its position closely and, if necessary, will continue to defend itself against any illegal actions by the football authorities should they attempt to exercise jurisdiction where they cannot, as has happened over early this year,” the statement said.

Previously, Premier League clubs Everton and Nottingham Forest were accused of breaching profitability and sustainability rules.
