The Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper shared his expectations from the second leg against Fenerbahce in the Champions League qualifier.
The coaching staff worked with the players very well in the first match against Fenerbahce, and therefore Dynamo will play better in Istanbul. This was said in an interview with the Kyiv club’s press service by the team’s goalkeeper Denis Boyko.
Also, according to the goalkeeper, the home stand will put a lot of pressure on the hosts, while Dynamo will be able to play more loosely.
“Playing for Besiktas? It was a long time ago. Yes, and I don’t divide opponents into principled and unprincipled. Every game is fundamental for us, and every next opponent is fundamental.
The way people get sick in Turkey, and first of all in Istanbul, is really something unbelievable. Therefore, Fenerbahce will have the advantage of the 12th player. But we will do everything possible and impossible to move forward.
In Istanbul, not only one stand was actively sick, but the whole stadium was very loud and enthusiastically supporting its team. That’s why it won’t be easy. However, all our goalkeepers have played more than one game at a high level and have adapted. Our psychology is at the highest level, so we will face the 12th player and everything will be fine.
I will not highlight the psychological pressure on our team. I think there will be a lot of pressure on the opposing team, because they will be playing at home, in front of their fans, who will only ask for victory. This is a plus for us, we will be able to play more liberated and just start with our game and the set-up for the match, which will be given by Mister.
Our coach did a very good analysis of the opponent before the first game and before the second leg. Therefore, I think all the points emphasized by Mister – both our mistakes and successful actions – will help us. We will draw the conclusions that the coach insists on and show the game better than the first meeting,” said Boyko.
Recall that the first meeting, held in Lodz, Poland, did not declare a winner and ended with a score of 0-0. The return match Fenerbahce – Dynamo will be held on July 27 in Istanbul. The match will start at 20:00 Kyiv time.
