Coaching staff Russian national team decided to release the guard Matveya Safonov from the national team’s training camp in Novogorsk, according to the Russian Football Union (RFU) website.
On Thursday, Safonov played the entire friendly match against Serbia, which ended in a victory for the Russian team with a score of 4:0.
“Matvey did his job, played a complete match and did it brilliantly. We thanked him for that. In the next match, we want to give other goalkeepers the opportunity to prove themselves,” said Russian national team goalkeeper coach Vitaly Kafanov.
Safonov will return to Krasnodar.
The match against the Paraguay national team will take place on March 25 at the Dynamo stadium named after Lev Yashin, starting at 20:00 (Moscow time). Watch the match broadcast on the channel, matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
