Second best result in the history of Ukraine
Ukrainian Evgeniy Marusyak for the second time in his career he was in the top 15 at the stages Ski Jumping World Cup.
Today Marusyak took 15th place (401.6 points) on the flying hill in the Slovenian Planice. In the first attempt, Evgeniy showed a result of 211.5 m (193.4 points), in the second – 213 m (208.2 points).
15th place is Marusyak’s second best result in his career and in the history of Ukraine. The record of the Ukrainian athlete is 11th place at the stage in Vikersund.
Let us remind you that in the qualifying stage in Planica, Marusyak became fifth, setting a new Ukrainian record for ski flight distance – 228.5 m. Another Ukrainian, Vitaly Kalinichenko, showed the 46th result and could not overcome the qualification barrier.
The winner of the competition on the flying jump in Planica was Peter Prevc (452.1 points). The Slovenian was ahead of Austrian Daniel Huber (448.5) and Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang (441.3).
Let us note that today’s performance in Planica was the last for the Ukrainian national team in the World Cup of the 2023/24 season
