The Serbian team won with a score of 1:0. Shortly before the end of the match, Nikola Knezevic scored the winning goal. Zenit head coach Sergei Semak commented on this result.
– Is the result natural? Hard to say. The team that scores wins. Since we couldn’t score, or we scored, but it wasn’t counted… Either way, the score is on the scoreboard,” Semak was quoted as saying by Match TV.
Red Star has become Serbian champion every year since the 2017/2018 season. Zenit has been the hegemon of the Russian championship since the 2018/2019 season.
