O Vasco placed at the top of the list of priorities the hiring of a new football director to make up for the departure of Alexandre Mattos. The board views the situation as urgent, but does not intend to fall into despair.
Lucio Barbosa, CEO of SAF, provisionally assumed Mattos’ role. Without the former manager, some people linked to the club’s day-to-day life confirmed that the atmosphere has improved at CT Moacyr Barbosa.

While the transfer window remains closed, the team does not have any official appointments scheduled. The Hill Giant’s top hats will have some time to focus on hiring a new director.
777 Partners already works with some names and analyzes the profile of each candidate to reach an agreement. SAF’s idea is to hire an executive who has ideas aligned with the company.
“We are already talking to some people and some interested parties, because the size of Vasco and the fans call it that. Vasco in itself already attracts good names, Vasco’s size brings that. I think few directors wouldn’t want to work here. There is autonomy and it comes with responsibility and demands”, said the CEO.
