Alexander Mostovoy expressed his opinion regarding rumors about the possible candidacy of Stanislav Cherchesov for the position of head coach of the Azerbaijani national football team. According to sources from the Championship portal, Cherchesov is one of the three best potential candidates for this position. However, the local football federation said no official proposal had yet been made to anyone.

“Just a week ago, Cherchesov was considered one of the contenders for the position of head coach of Spartak. Besides Stanislav, there are probably other candidates for this role in the Azerbaijani national team.

Azerbaijan has not achieved significant success before, and perhaps with the arrival of Cherchesov the situation will change and they will be able to achieve something new or reach a new level, in the same way as Georgia is currently fighting to qualify for Euro 2024.” Mostovoy shared an interview with a “Championship” journalist.
