Barcelona’s vice-president for economic affairs Romeu leaves his post

The functionary was involved in the financial recovery of the club for three years.

Vice President Barcelona in the economic sphere Eduard Romeu left his post. The functionary spoke about his decision in mid-March, after which his resignation was approved by the Board of Directors on Monday.

Romeu served as vice president for three years. His task was to lead the club out of the crisis after the coronavirus pandemic and financially improve Barcelona’s activities. Romeu will continue to work with the club as an independent advisor.

Earlier, Barcelona President Joan Laporta said that the club was terminating its contract with Nike ahead of schedule after 27 years of cooperation. Blaugrana will consider options from other equipment manufacturers who will offer more favorable conditions.

Barcelona is in second place in the La Liga standings. Xavi’s team will next play against Las Palmas on March 30.
