For the first time, Ukrainians qualified for the European Championship at a home tournament. Then at Euro 2012 the blue-yellows took third place in the group, missing out to England and France in the playoffs.
The Ukrainian team qualified for the 2016 European Championship by beating Slovenia in the qualifying playoffs. The blue-and-yellows finished last in the group, losing all three matches to Germany, Poland and Northern Ireland.
The Ukrainians made it to Euro 2020 by winning the qualifying group. In the final part, the Ukrainian team reached the quarterfinals, beating Sweden in the playoffs and losing to England.
The Ukrainian national team beat Iceland in the final of the playoff qualifying for Euro 2024 (2:1). The blue-and-yellows conceded in the first half, but snatched victory thanks to goals from Viktor Tsygankov and Mikhail Mudrik after the break.
Sergei Rebrov’s team will play in a quartet with E with Belgium, Slovakia and Romania. The Ukrainians will play their first match against Romania on June 17.
