What you need to know about four big tournaments for four Ukrainian national teams
Summer 2024 is the hottest and most successful period in history Ukrainian football. Straightaway four national teams – national, U-19 and U-17 and Olympic – will play in major tournaments. Europe championship U-17: start May 20
The team led by Yuri Moroz made it to the 16 teams that will determine the continental champion in Cyprus. In addition to the blue-yellows and the Cyprus team, as the host of the tournament, Austria, England, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Wales, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden made it to Euro 2024.
Participants will be divided into four groups of four teams. The two best teams from each quartet will advance to the quarter finals. The draw for the group round of the 2024 U-17 European Championship will take place on April 3. The tournament itself starts on May 20 and will last until June 5. The matches will be hosted by six stadiums in Cyprus.
Euro 2024: the Ukrainian national team begins the tournament on June 17
The 2024 European Championship will be hosted by Germany. The championship will begin on June 14 in Munich and end on July 14 in Berlin. The Euro 2024 group stage will feature 24 teams divided into six groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group, as well as the top four third-place teams, advance to the 1/8 finals of the tournament.
The national team of Ukraine, having made it to the final part of Euro 2024 through the playoffs of the Nations League qualifications, will play in the final part of the European Championship for the fourth time in a row and for the fourth time in its history. The Ukrainian team found itself in Group D, where its opponents will be the teams of Romania, Belgium and Slovakia.
The blue-yellows will begin their performances at the 2024 European Championship on June 17 with a match against Romania. Ukraine will play against Slovakia on June 21, and against Belgium on June 26. The blue-yellows will play all three matches in different cities: the match with Romania will take place in Munich, with Slovakia in Dusseldorf, with Belgium in Stuttgart.
Europe championship U-19: start July 15
Dmitry Mikhailenko’s team made it to the top eight teams in Europe, which will determine the best content team in Northern Ireland. The tournament matches will take place in two cities – Belfast and Larne – and at three stadiums. The tournament itself will begin on July 15 and end on July 28.
In addition to Ukraine and Northern Ireland, as the hosts of the tournament, the teams of Denmark, Spain, Italy, Norway, Turkey and France will play at Euro 2024 U-19. The teams will be divided into two groups of four teams. The two best teams in the quartet will advance to the semi-finals. The draw for the group round of the 2024 European Under-19 Championship will take place on April 17.
Olympics 2024: Ukraine starts on July 24
Ukraine will play in the Olympic football tournament for the first time. For the Olympics, they created a new team – the country’s Olympic team, leaving Ruslan Rotan at the helm, under whose leadership the Ukrainian youth team reached the semi-finals of Euro 2023 and won a ticket to Paris. According to the regulations, only three football players over 23 years old can be included in the participant’s application.

The tournament will feature 16 of the best teams in the world. At the group stage they will be divided into four groups of four teams. The two best teams in the group advance to the quarterfinals.
The draw for the group round of the Paris Olympic football tournament has already taken place. Ukraine has identified three of the four opponents, the last one will be determined a little later. The blue-yellows’ opponents will be the national teams of Argentina, Morocco, as well as the team that took third place in the Asian Youth Cup.
At the 2024 Olympics, Ukraine starts on July 24 with a match against the third team of the Asian Youth Cup. On July 27, the blue-yellows will meet with Morocco, and on July 30, with Argentina. The Ukrainians will play matches with the third team of the AFC and the Argentina national team in Lyon, and a game with Morocco in Saint-Etienne.
