Athletistic / Football. The FNL has proposed to First and Second League clubs to relax the limit imposed on foreign players.
The Telegram channel Insides from Karp reported that the FNL is seriously considering the issue of changing the limit imposed on foreign players. This will affect both the First and Second Leagues. The FNL argues in favor of this measure as follows. First, it will increase the level of competition. Secondly, it will help increase the competitive environment in the training process for the development of young Russian players. Thirdly, it will provide FNL club leaders with the opportunity to develop, gain experience and international connections.
Karpov writes that in the First League they plan to increase the number of foreign players from four to seven (no more than five on the field). As for the Second League, it plans to authorize three foreigners aged up to 23 to appear in the candidacy.
According to the same Telegram channel, the opinions of the Premier League clubs were also divided. But in the Second League, the majority is favorable.
One of the main motivations of the FNL is to balance the market. There are few intelligent national players. And the demand is great. For this reason, salaries are inflated. This initiative will help reduce the price of Russian football players.
