The Ukrainian team will become part of the football festival in Germany
German Minister of the Interior Nancy Feather stated that the host country European Championship 2024 will do everything possible to protect Ukrainian national team and Ukrainian fans at the upcoming continental tournament.
“Security measures are at a high level and are closely coordinated between the federal authorities, states and participating countries. We will do everything to protect the Ukrainian team and its fans. We continue to focus on our preparations. Our focus is on a wide range of activities: from protection from hooligans and Islamists to ensuring cybersecurity,” Feser said.
“Ukraine is part of Europe. We stand firmly on the side of Ukraine. We are protecting 1.1 million people in Germany who fled Putin’s bloody aggressive war. Together with Ukrainian women and men, we will root for their national team.”
The Ukrainian national team beat Iceland in the final of the playoff qualifying for Euro 2024 (2:1). The blue-and-yellows conceded in the first half, but snatched victory thanks to goals from Viktor Tsygankov and Mikhail Mudrik after the break.
