Inter Miami announced the loan of a right-back Boca Juniors Marcelo Weygandt. The agreement runs until the end of the 2024 season with the possibility of extension for another year.
In the 2023 season, Weygandt played 32 matches for Boca Juniors, in which he scored two goals and provided five assists. In total, the 24-year-old defender has 72 matches for the Argentine giants. At one time, Marcelo was called up to the Argentina U-17 and U-20 national teams.
Among others, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Sergei Krivtsov play for Inter Miami. The 33-year-old Ukrainian centerback has played eight matches this season.
Inter Miami is in second place in the MLS Eastern Conference. Krivtsov’s team will play the next match with New York City on March 31.
