Ukrainian junior middleweight boxer Sergei Bogachuk (23-1, 23 KOs) and his next opponent Brian Mendoza (22-3-0, 16 KOs) held duel of glances.
The boxers looked into each other’s eyes for more than a minute, after which they took several photos together and shook hands.
The fight for the WBC interim junior middleweight title between Bogachuk and Mendoza will take place on the night of March 30-31 in Las Vegas. The fight will be broadcast on the YouTube channel of the promotion company Premier Boxing, starting at 00:00.
Bogachuk was supposed to fight for the full WBC championship belt against Sebastian Fundora. However, the fight fell through, as the American was appointed to replace Keith Thurman in the fight against Tim Tszyu.
The fight between Fundora and Tszyu for the WBO and WBC junior middleweight titles will be the main event of the boxing evening in Las Vegas.
Bogachuk holds the WBC Continental Americas title and is ranked second in the WBC rankings. Mendoza is in 8th position in the ranking.
In his last fight, Bogachuk knocked out Ghanaian Patrick Allotey in the first round. For the Ukrainian, this was the second defense of the WBC Continental Americas title.
