Leonid Buryak did not win a single match against future opponents of the blue-yellows
At the Euro 2024 group stage The Ukrainian national team will play with national teams Belgium, Slovakia and Romania. In their history, the blue-yellows have never met the Belgians, but have often played with the Slovaks and Romanians. With Fomenko at the helm, the Ukrainian national team beat Romania in a friendly match (4:3), and also lost (0:1) and lost to Slovakia (0:0) in the group stage of Euro 2016 qualifying.
Shevchenko beat Slovakia in the control match (2:1) and in the first round match of the 2018/2019 Nations League (1:0). In the second round, the LN blue-yellows with Shevchenko at the helm were defeated in Slovakia (1:4).
Leonid Buryak played three matches against the national teams of Slovakia and Romania at the helm of the Ukrainian national team. Under his leadership, the blue-yellows lost twice to the Romanians in control matches (1:4 and 0:2) and drew with the Slovaks (1:1).
Oleg Blokhin played a draw with the Slovak national team with the blue-and-yellows (1:1), but under the leadership of Mikhailichenko, Ukraine beat the Slovaks (3:2). Both matches were friendly.
The Romanian national team was beaten in control matches by Miron Markevich (3:2) and Yuri Kalitvintsev (2:2 and 4:2 – on pens). But Valery Lobanovsky and the national team lost the test match against Romania (0:1).
Ukraine will play its first match against Romania on June 17. Ticket sales for the blue-yellow matches at Euro 2024 are also open.
Ukraine will play at the European Championships for the fourth time. The blue-and-yellows have consistently competed in the finals of the continental championship since 2012.
