The Ukrainian national team achieved a unique success in qualifying for the European Football Championship. Statistics portal Opta has shared interesting information about the average age of the teams participating in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
The Ukrainian national team was found to have the youngest selection team among all the countries that entered the finals of the tournament.
In eight group matches and two playoff games, the Ukrainians have an average starting line-up age of just 25 years and 272 days.
Of all the 53 teams that started in tournament qualifying, only one team had an average starting line-up from the Blue and Yellows.
The average age of the Bulgarian team is 24 years and 278 days. However, this team is far from reaching the Euro, as it took the last place in Group G, without winning a match.
The oldest squads among the countries qualifying for Euro 2024 are Slovakia (29 years and 264 days), and overall Montenegro (29 years and 308 days).
We remind you that together with Slovakia the Ukrainian national team will play in the group round of Euro 2024. In addition to them, Quartet E includes Belgium and Romania.
It was previously known that the goal against Ukraine was the best in the Euro 2024 playoffs.
