The new agreement includes a €1 billion clause
Barcelona expects to re-sign a contract with one of its key talents – a 17-year-old defender – before the end of the season Pau Kubarsi.
It is reported that the club has already sent the player a proposal providing for an increase in wages. Also, according to available information, the new long-term agreement will contain a clause in the amount of one billion euros.
Kubarsi made his debut for the Blaugranas first team in January, a few days before his 17th birthday. Quite quickly he became one of the main players, having already played 13 matches for Xavi’s team (10 in a row in the championship) and made one assist (in his debut cup match). Based on his only match in the Champions League, he was immediately nominated for the title of best player of the week.
Barcelona is in second place in the La Liga standings, 8 points behind Real Madrid. Xavi’s team will next play against Las Palmas on March 30.
