Over the five-year cycle, Dynamo dropped by 45 places in the UEFA club rankings

Shakhtar lost ten positions

Ukrainian football is significantly lost in the last five years. This Ukraine will finish the European Cup season in 18th place in the UEFA rankingsbut the next one is will start outside the TOP 20, in 21st position. The last time our country was outside the top 20 was in the 1998/1999 season. starting from 22nd place.

As a result, from the 2025/2026 season, unless a football miracle happens, Ukraine will field not five, but four teams in European competitions; in the 2024/2025 season, only Shakhtar, and only thanks to its high club rating, will be able to start in the Champions League group. If any other club wins the UPL championship, they will have to start from qualification.

So far, in the UEFA club rankings, Shakhtar is in 26th position, Dynamo is in 68th, Dnepr-1 is in 141st. Kribassa is not in the ranking yet (with all due respect to other clubs, we are now talking about potential contenders for the championship).

Over the past five seasons in European competition, the white-blues have scored 2.4 times fewer points than Shakhtar and only one and a half times more than Zorya, who also played in Europe for the last five seasons.

It is noteworthy that in the previous five seasons – from 2014/2015 to 2018/2019 – Dynamo scored 2.5 times more points than in the current one (65 versus 26.5), and according to their results, the white-blues were in 23rd place place, and Shakhtar, who earned 80 points, is in 16th place.

Well, yes, in the golden years of the UPL championship, domestic clubs were at the peak of their results. Thus, Shakhtar finished the 2012/2013 season in 13th place, Dynamo in 25th, and Metalist in 30th.
