The coach wished the Rivne team to maintain their registration in the UPL
Mentor of Krivbass Yuri Vernidub commented on the victory over Veres (2:0) in the 22nd round of the UPL.
“I wish Veres to keep his place in the UPL. I really wish this for them. I understood that it would be a very difficult game. Moreover, before that they played a draw here with Dynamo – 1:1. Therefore, we tuned in and prepared for Veres seriously.”
“In general about the game: good football. What I didn’t like: the opponent’s moment in the first minutes. Our guys were confused about something. Fortunately, they did not realize that moment. After that we had the game under control, I think.”
“We had more chances and played from a position of strength. It is very difficult to pass a rich defense. But after that episode when the Veres striker did everything himself: he turned around and hit Stetskov in the face – a clean red card, it helped. At the beginning of the second half we scored the first goal. Yes, it was difficult for the opponent in the minority.”
“They practically didn’t have any chances. Then we scored another goal at the end. Thanks to my guys, thanks to all the fans of Krivbass, everyone who supports us. We’re moving on. Ahead is a difficult home game against Vorskla, then two away games – Chernomorets, Rukh. We must prepare if we want to achieve anything serious. Because it will be even more difficult further. There’s Dnepr-1, Polesie, and Dynamo.”
“Once again I wish Veres to stay in the UPL. Your president creates all the conditions for the club to develop: fields, stadium. I wish there were more clubs like this. Those who have their own infrastructure.”
Krivbass is in second place in the UPL standings with 46 points. Shakhtar have the same number of points, but the Miners played two fewer matches.
In the next round of the Ukrainian championship, Krivbass will play against Vorskla. The meeting is scheduled for April 8.
