The Ukrainian chalked up another clean sheet
Goalkeeper Real Madrid Andrey Lunin commented on the victory over Athletic (2:0) in the 30th round of Examples.
“We played well. We knew that we had to face a strong team, a finalist in the Spanish Cup. They have good players, they attack well, but we were prepared for this. Luckily I was able to parry Williams’ shot, that’s my job. Thank God everything turned out well.”
“It’s always easier to win when you don’t concede goals, we always try to keep a clean sheet. With the best players in the world up front, we know we will create chances and we need to do that, take our chances.”
“The upcoming match with City in the Champions League? We will prepare seriously and thoroughly, as we do for every game. Now we will recover, we have a few days to prepare well and train. We will watch the opponent’s video and do our best to get the best result.”
Lunin has played 24 games for Real Madrid in all competitions this season. The Ukrainian kept 11 clean sheets, conceding a total of 19 goals. Blancos and the goalkeeper are already negotiating a new contract.
Real Madrid leads La Liga with an eight-point lead over Barcelona. In the next round, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will visit Mallorca.
