Athletistic / Football. Liverpool management continues to search for a candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp as head coach of the club. In January, the German announced that he would leave the Merseyside camp at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
As The Ahtletic reports, last week Liverpool tested the waters regarding a possible invitation to the club from Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi and Bologna helmsman Thiago Motta. The source notes that the Nerazzurri have no intention of letting Inzaghi leave, and Motta has all but agreed to an appointment at Juventus, so he is not keen to negotiate with the English club.
Previously, the media claimed that the main candidates for the position of head coach of Liverpool were Germans Hans-Dieter Flick and Thomas Tuchel, Portuguese Ruben Amorim and Italian Roberto De Zerbi. Before that, Xabi Alonso had refused an appointment in the Reds camp, deciding to stay at Bayer.
Liverpool lead the Premier League table with 67 points. Merseyside are two points ahead of Arsenal in second place. The current national champion Man City (64 points) is third.
