Luxembourg played two matches in March
Winger Gerson Rodriguez, pro-Bratislava Slovan on lease from Kyiv Dynamo, got into another scandal.
Club coach Vladimir Weiss said that the player did not return after the international break. In March, Gerson played two games for Luxembourg: against Georgia (0:2) and Kazakhstan (2:1). In the final match, the midfielder scored a goal and an assist.
“We don’t have Rodrigues now, he didn’t come from the national team’s training camp. We must solve this problem – both me and the club. It’s a disciplinary thing. For me, the team comes first,” the coach emphasized.
Rodriguez has been a Dynamo player since the summer of 2019. The winger was regularly loaned out to the Kyiv club – to Turkish Ankaragucu, Eyupspor and Sivasspor, French Troyes, Emirati Al-Wahda, Slovak Slovan.
The 28-year-old player moved to the club from Bratislava in February of this year. According to Transfermarkt, this agreement is valid until the end of 2024, and Rodriguez’s contract with the Kyiv club expires in the summer of 2025.
In total, the Luxembourg footballer played 53 matches for Dynamo, in which he scored nine goals and gave four assists. Gerson was recently sentenced by the Luxembourg City Court to 18 months of suspended imprisonment and imposed a fine of 1,500 euros for violence and battery.
