Just recently, Adidas unveiled a new kit for the German national football team. Attentive users of social networks immediately saw that in the given font the number 44 resembled the symbols of the Nazi SS.

The German Football Association immediately denied the number, saying that all players on their national team would wear numbers from 1 to 23.

But at the same time, in the Adidas online store, users can still order this T-shirt with this number and their name. But! The company decided to block inscriptions such as Führer or Hitler, but customers could, for example, choose surnames such as Goebbels or Goering.

“We will block number 44 as quickly as possible. Adidas employs people from approximately 100 countries and is a company committed to promoting diversity and inclusion. As a company, we actively oppose the xenophobia, anti-Semitism, violence and hatred in all its forms,” said Adidas spokesperson Oliver Bryggen.
