In the opening match of the 32nd round English Championship Manchester City confidently beat away Crystal Palace with a score of 4:2.
The Eagles were the first to open the scoring in the game – Jean-Philippe Mateta scored at the start of the match. But before the break, Pep Guardiola’s team bounced back – Kevin De Bruyne scored his goal.
After the break, the guests managed to score a victory: first, Rico Lewis scored, and then Erling Haaland scored his next goal. The fourth goal for the Citizens was scored by De Bruyne, who scored a double. At the end of the match, the hosts reduced the gap through the efforts of Odsonne Edouard, but they were not enough to do more.
After this match, Manchester City scored 70 points and is in second place in the Premier League standings. Crystal Palace are in 14th position.
In the next round of the English Championship, Manchester City will play against Luton, and Crystal Palace will play against Liverpool.
