Defenders Van de Ven and Porro brought victory to the hosts in the opening of the second half
Tottenham in the home match of the 32nd round English Premier League defeated Nottingham Forest – 3:1.
Spurs opened the scoring early in the match – Timo Werner’s cross into his own goal was deflected by defender Murillo. However, by the end of half an hour the guests had won back, seemingly easily defeating the London defense. Chris Wood scored his 12th league goal when he headed in Anthony Elanga’s cross.
Tottenham secured the final result in the first third of the second half. The heroes of the episodes were team defenders Ange Postecoglou. First, Mickey van de Ven shot into the top corner with a cannonball, and five minutes later Pedro Porro successfully joined in the attack.
The victory allowed Spurs to move into fourth place, ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference. At the same time, Postecoglou’s team has a game in hand. Foresters remained in 17th position. They are only ahead of Luton, who are in the relegation zone, on goal difference.
In the next round, Tottenham will travel to Newcastle, while Nottingham will host Wolverhampton. Both fights will take place on Saturday, April 13.
