Atlético Madrid president: ‘I don’t know who made up this Cristiano Ronaldo transfer story’

Madrid President “Atletico” Enrique Cerezo responds to rumors that a striker could join the club “Manchester United” Cristiano Ronaldo .

– I don’t know who made up this story about Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Atlético Madrid. It is certainly not true.

It’s almost impossible for him to go to Atlético,” journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted Cerezo as saying, citing Spanish radio COPE.

Ronaldo moved to Manchester United in August 2021. He signed a contract until the end of June 2023 with the option of an extension for another season. Earlier, it was reported that Manchester United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League was the reason the 37-year-old Portuguese was looking for a new club.

From 2009 to 2018, Ronaldo played for Real Madrid, with whom he became two-time Spanish champions, four-time Champions League winners.
