Ukrainians failed to reach the final part of the tournament
Lyudmila and Nadezhda Kichenok lost to the Romanians in the doubles match Ane Bogdan And Jacqueline Christian. Team Ukraine lost Romania in qualification Billie Jean King Cup.
In the first game, the Ukrainians quickly lost serve, and in the end managed to take only two games. The second set ended in a tiebreaker, where the Romanian tennis players were again stronger.
The Ukrainian team lost with a score of 2:3. The Romanians advanced to the final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup.
Let us remember that on the first day of play, Tsurenko beat Ana Bogdan, and Elina Svitolina defeated Christian. In Saturday’s matches, Svitolina lost to Bogdan in an almost 3-hour match, and Tsurenko lost to Christian in three sets.
For the third year in a row, Ukraine failed to make it to the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup. In 2022, our tennis players lost to the US team, and in 2023 – to the Czech national team.
