The Irishman’s opponent will be Michael Chandler
Former UFC champion in two weight classes Conor McGregor will officially return to the Octagon on June 29. The Irishman’s opponent will be the former Bellator champion Michael Chandler.
The fight will take place as part of the UFC 303 event, which will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena. McGregor and Chandler will fight in the welterweight category (up to 170 pounds or 77 kilograms).
McGregor fought his last fight in the Octagon in July 2021, losing to Dustin Poirier. Earlier, the 35-year-old Irishman challenged the legendary Filipino boxer, former world champion in eight weight categories, Manny Pacquiao.
Chandler also lost to Poirier in his last fight. The fight took place in November 2022.
