De Zerbi expects to remain at Brighton next season

It was previously reported that Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United are showing interest in the Italian.

Brighton optimistic about the head coach’s chances Roberto De Zerbi stay at the club next season.

The Italian coach himself made it clear that he would not mind leading the Seagulls next season. At the same time, Roberto emphasized:

“I haven’t decided to leave yet, it’s not time to decide anything yet. I’m upset and disappointed with this season.”

It was previously reported that the Italian is preparing to leave Brighton in the summer transfer window, despite the current contract until 2026. Liverpool and Bayern were interested in the coach’s services. Manchester United is also considering De Zerbi as the main contender for the post of head coach.

The coach’s agreement with the club contains a buyout option for 12-13 million euros, which will only be valid next summer. The other day De Zerbi said that he had no intention of leaving the Premier League and returning to Italy.

The Italian specialist is 44 years old. Before England, he worked as head coach at Foggia, Palermo, Benevento, Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk. Brighton welcomed De Zerbi in September 2022 and immediately led the modest club into the Europa League.

Brighton are currently in 10th place in the Premier League, having remained without a win since the beginning of March. De Zerbi’s team is six points behind sixth place in the European Cup. The Seagulls’ next match will host Manchester City on April 25.
