The third quarter of the match was turning point and key
Prometheus won a second victory in a row over Riga WEF in the semi-final playoff series Latvian-Estonian Basketball League — 87:66.
The Riga team intended to give the fight to the favorite, especially against the backdrop of the difficult victory that the Ukrainian team won in the first meeting (76:66).
The home team played strongly in the first half of the match, deservedly winning the opening quarter. Then VEF managed to increase the lead to +9 points, but Prometheus managed to reduce the gap and go to the big break with the score 32:35 not in its favor.
In the third quarter, Ronen Ginzburg’s team made a powerful breakthrough. In fact, then the question of the winner was closed – the guests secured a double-digit handicap, and in the remaining time they only strengthened their advantage, bringing it to 20 points.
Prometheus became the first finalist of LEBL-2023/24. His opponent in the final will be determined in the international confrontation between Kalev/Kramo (Estonia) and Ventspils (Latvia).
