Veres players lost concentration and missed a goal
Acting head coach Veresa Oleg Shandruk commented on the team’s defeat from LNZ (0:1) in the 24th round Ukrainian Premier League. He noted that his players lost concentration at the start of the second half, when the game was resumed after an air raid.
“Quite an even first half. The fight for the center of the field. Almost no moments. Then – an alarm signal. I’ve already talked about this, we have a problem – we seem to come to an agreement, but then again we don’t get involved in the game one hundred percent. We lost concentration at the start of the second half and conceded a goal after our own set piece. After that, for about seven minutes we completely lost control of the game. LNZ had an advantage,” Shandruk said.
“Then the opponent played according to the result. LNZ defends very reliably. But we had our moment. We could have scored a very important point. Unfortunately, we lost.”
“Regarding the condition of the field in Cherkassy, it is already better than it was here during the game with Minai. But such a field promotes a lot of fighting and it is very important to win rebounds. The tightness of the game in defense comes to the fore.”
Veres is in 13th place in the UPL. Shandruk’s team will play the next match against SK Dnepr-1 on April 21.
