The player will undergo additional tests, but there is no serious threat to his health
Medical examination of the defender Evan Ndiki’s Roma did not reveal any cardiac or neurological problems in the player.
According to preliminary data, not only the life, but also the career of the football player is not under threat. He will rest for a few days, after which he will be able to resume training.
The exact date of Ndiki’s return to the game has not yet been announced – he will have to undergo additional tests. Approximately, if no complications occur, he will be able to return to the field in three to four weeks.
According to current information, the clinical picture of the 24-year-old player is consistent with a chest injury with minimal left pneumothorax (accumulation of air in the pleural cavity, which can affect the functioning of the lung). First and second level cardiac tests carried out at the Udine Hospital were negative for cardiac pathology.
Roma in its statement thanked the Udinese club, referee Luca Piretto, the fans of the opposing team, as well as the medical staff of the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital.
Let us remind you that Ndika became ill on April 14 in the second half of the Udinese-Roma match. Evan remained conscious but motioned for help, indicating chest pain. The player was quickly taken off the field on a stretcher and immediately hospitalized.
The match was interrupted in the 72nd minute with the score 1:1. Romans coach Daniele De Rossi explained to officials that his players were worried about a teammate who might have a suspected cardiac arrest and were not ready to continue playing. As a result, chief referee Pairetto decided to stop the match. The further fate of the unfinished match will be announced additionally.
Roma is in fifth place with 55 points (excluding the match with Udinese). Wolves’ next match will be against Milan in the quarterfinals of the Europa League on April 18.
