The Ukrainian’s contract with Omonia expires at the end of this season
Ukrainian midfielder Omonii Roman Bezus suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and will be out of the game for the next six months.
For Roman, this injury is doubly a failure, since his contract with the Cypriot club expires on May 31, and, given the circumstances, Omonia is unlikely to renew it, despite the written option.
33-year-old Bezus is known for his performances for Vorskla, Dynamo and Dnepr, as well as the Ukrainian national team (24 matches, 5 goals). From 2015 to 2022, the attacking midfielder played in Belgium for Saint-Truyen and Ghent, after which he became a player for the Cypriot giants.
This season, Roman played 38 matches for the Nicosia club in all competitions, scored 14 goals and provided 10 assists.
Three rounds before the end of the Cyprus Championship, Omonia ranks third in the Championship Group, losing three points to AEK and four to APOEL.
