Egis is waiting for an incredible show
Egis Klimasmanager of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikacommented on the upcoming fight between the former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and former interim WBO champion Zhang Zhilei.
“Deontay Wilder didn’t look great in his last fight against Joseph Parker. It will be interesting to see if he recovers from this defeat.”
“Will we see him as he was a few years ago, will he be different or has Tyson Fury worn him out? Nobody knows. It’s hard to make predictions because Wilder’s last fight wasn’t the best we’ve seen.”
Wilder and Zhilei will officially fight on June 1 in Saudi Arabia. Also, as part of a large-scale boxing evening between the promotional companies Queensberry and Matchroom, British heavyweight Daniel Dubois and mandatory challenger for the IBF title Filip Hrgovic will enter the ring.
The main event of the event on June 1 will be a fight for the title of absolute world light heavyweight champion between WBO title holder Dmitry Bivol and WBC, WBO and IBF champion Artur Beterbiev.
Wilder last fought in December 2023 in Riyadh at the “Day of Reckoning” show, losing to Joseph Parker by unanimous decision. Zhilei lost to the same Parker in early March 2024. At the same time, Zhang knocked down the New Zealander twice.
