Italian football club Atalanta confirmed that the defender Jose Luis Palomino suspended for suspected anti-doping rule violation.
According to Ansa, the 32-year-old Argentinian failed a doping test for the anabolic steroid nandrolone.
The Bergamo team on the official website reported that the National Anti-Doping Tribunal of Italy (TNA) notified the suspension of the athlete. The club clarified that we are talking about another substance – a clostebol metabolite.
Palomino joined Atalanta in 2017 from Bulgarian Ludogorets, his contract with the club runs until the summer of 2023. Last season the defender made 45 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist decisive. Previously he played for French “Metz”, Argentinian “San Lorenzo” and “Argentinos Juniors”.
The colors of Atalanta are defended by Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk.
