The Kiev head coach explained why he asked Petrakov for the delay for his players on the national team.

Dynamo went to meet with the national side and canceled all charity matches scheduled for May, but the game against Basel on the 4th had to take place, as the contract had already been signed. This was stated in an interview with Digi Sport by head coach of Kiev Mircea Lucescu.

According to the Romanian specialist, that is why he asked for a deferral from national team coach Alexander Petrakov for his players.

“I talked to UAF President Pavelko and national team coach Petrakov. On May 4, our players will go to the national team. We left Ukraine to hold charity matches. The problem is that other teams can’t do it .

We lost on the issue of some scheduled matches, but on May 4 we were playing in Basel, we could not cancel the game, the contract was signed. On the night of May 4, players can go to the national team. Until June 1, there is time to prepare hard for the match against Scotland.

The problem of the national team is that its foreign players will play in their championships from 17 to 22 May. I explained it, and we finally agreed. It would be great if the Ukrainian national team qualified on the field, and not by invitation, ”Lucescu said.
