In the seventh minute of the match between Liverpool and Manchester United, home fans paid tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo after the death of his son: a round of applause that lasted 60 seconds as fans sang the classic “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
A gesture which was planned for the morning of this Tuesday on social networks, where several Liverpool supporters proposed to those present at Anfield to applaud Cristiano in tribute to the difficult moment that the Portuguese striker is going through. The benches also joined this gesture and even Jurgen Klopp, DT of the networkspart of the minute of respect.
Along with the applause, Liverpool fans accompanied the moment by singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, the British seaside club’s classic sonata. At the time the tribute was paid, the local team already won 1-0 after a goal from Colombian Luis Díaz after a great collective blow led by Mohamed Salah.
Cristiano Ronaldo for his part was not present for the match, as the club released him to be with his family during the difficult time they are going through.
