Blancos will get an extra day of rest before the Champions League semi-final with Bayern
La Liga approved the request Real Madrid about the postponement of the match of the 33rd round Examples with Real Sociedad on Friday, 26 April.
Blancos were due to play in San Sebastian on April 27. However, they asked to postpone the meeting in order to better prepare for the first Champions League semi-final with Bayern, which will take place on April 30. Considering that Madrid will play two matches in a row away from home, La Liga approved the request.
The postponement led to changes in some other meetings. The Almeria-Getafe match from Friday has been postponed to Saturday, April 27. The Barcelona-Valencia match has been moved to Monday, April 28, instead of Saturday.
Real Madrid leads La Liga, eight points ahead of Barcelona. Blancos beat Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the 2023/24 Champions League. The hero of the meeting was Ukrainian Andrey Lunin, who saved two penalties and set a Real Madrid club record for the number of saves in a Champions League match.
