The former defender of Dynamo Kiev and the Ukrainian national team spoke about his experiences in his own home.

After what I experienced in Gostomel, the values of my life changed, – said Vladislav Vashchuk, a former defender of Dynamo Kiev and the Ukrainian national team, in an interview with TV channels Football 1/2/3.

According to him, both the latest Mercedes and the old Zhiguli left the city in an attempt to save lives. Everyone is equal and everyone has a task – to survive. Nowadays, no one talks about money.

In addition, Vashchuk said what he had to endure at his home in Gostomel after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“The kids were asleep, and my friend called me and said there were explosions already in Boryspil. I quickly started to wake my daughter, but she told me:” Dad, it’s too early for school. “I told him to quickly collect valuables and get off. We quickly gathered, but then my son told me that the helicopters were already flying. We got up and we saw that the shooting was starting, about 20 helicopters were out. flying towards Antonov, which is about a kilometer away from And I didn’t risk it at that moment that I didn’t know where the explosions were happening, they were both on the right and left, and I didn’t know which road was safer go to.

The sky is orange-red, there is a lot of fire. I bothered the kids, I tried to stop them from starting to panic, especially since I had a 13 year old girl.

The difficulty is, on the third or fourth day the meal was over, then people gave us more food, the neighbors fed us. My job was to get water and food for the kids, and I would wait somehow. But little by little he ate with them so that they would understand that dad was also eating.

Potatoes are our bread and main meal. Three days before liberation, somewhere on the 11th-12th day of the war, we lost our gas. It was a big test for me. I understand we need fuel. They were, but lying on the street and damp. Therefore, every morning they had to be taken home to dry. Every morning, by the time we want to fry something or heat water, we have to light a fire.

You don’t know what the hell. This is when they shoot at the top for more than 15 hours. You can’t get out. You are downstairs, the ground is shaking, you can feel everything. My job is to distract the kids from all this, ”Vashchuk said.
