The Ukrainian impresses the management of the Madrid club
Real continues to work on the negotiation process on the goalkeeper’s extension Andrey Lunin.
Blancos intend to sign a long-term contract with the Ukrainian. Both sides are confident in extending the agreement, but are not forcing things. In addition, Real does not plan to invite another goalkeeper to compete with Lunin and Thibaut Courtois.
The Ukrainian’s current agreement runs until the end of the 2024/25 season. It was previously reported that the new agreement will increase wages and stipulate a guaranteed number of games that the Ukrainian will play during the season. At the same time, Lunin will be the reserve goalkeeper, while the “first number” should remain with Courtois.
The Ukrainian goalkeeper played 27 matches for Blancos in all tournaments of the season. Lunin missed 23 goals in these meetings, and kept a clean sheet in 12 matches.
With Real Madrid, Andrei won seven trophies, including La Liga, the Champions Cup and the Club World Cup. Blancos are negotiating with the player to extend his contract.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team will play Bayern in the Champions League semi-finals (April 30 and May 7). Real is also leading in La Liga and is close to an early title in the Spanish championship.
